This Lunar New Year, Boys & Girls Club embraced the spirit of the season with engaging, hands-on activities made possible by Panda Express’ Let’s Explore!: Lunar New Year program. Members had the opportunity to learn about the rich history and traditions of this special holiday while taking part in creative projects and interactive lessons during Power Hour.
Throughout the celebration, members crafted dragon paper puppets representing Nian the Lunar Dragon, zodiac wheels to discover their birth year animals, and colorful lanterns symbolizing the upcoming Lantern Festival. They also made snakes in honor of the Year of the Snake and completed graphic organizers to deepen their understanding of Lunar New Year traditions. A lively game of Lunar New Year bingo added to the fun, sparking friendly competition and learning at the same time!
Thanks to Panda Express’ Let’s Explore!: Lunar New Year program, members also explored Lunar New Year traditions through interactive lessons, including trivia, global customs, simple Chinese phrases, and more. This partnership provided an exciting and educational way to bring the holiday to life at the Club.
